Matt Chandler – Image Bearer

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We do not realize the importance of the unconscious part of our life ministry. It goes on continually.

In every greeting we give to another on the street, in every moment’s conversation, in every letter we write, in every contact with other lives, there is a subtle influence that goes from us that often reaches further, and leaves a deeper impression than the things themselves that we are doing at the time. It is not so much what we do in this world but what we are, that draws others to Jesus…

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Evangel – Come Unto Me

Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. – 1 Peter 3:18, niv

The path of righteousness is a narrow, winding trail up a steep hill. At the top of the hill is a cross. At the base of the cross are bags. Countless bags full of innumerable sins. Calvary is the compost pile of guilt. Would you like to leave yours there as well?

Historical Jesus

Posted by carl on 10 January, 2010

God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. – 1 John 4:9

Many people doubt whether Jesus ever really existed, but many historians have written about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Around A.D. 114, the Roman historian, Tacitus, wrote that the founder of the Christian religion, Jesus Christ, was put to death by Pontius Pilate in the reign of the Roman Emperor Tiberius (Annals 15.44).

Pliny the Younger wrote a letter to the Emperor Trajan on the subject of Christ and Christians (Letters 10.96-97).

In A.D. 90, the Jewish historian Josephus penned a short biographical note on Jesus: “Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call Him a man, for He was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as received the truth with pleasure. He drew over to Him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was Christ” (Antiquities 18.63).

The Talmud refers to Jesus of Nazareth (Sanhedrin 43a, Abodah Zerah 16b–17a).

Jesus was a man in history. And His claims were true. Do you still doubt His ability to save you?

I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. – Hebrews 8:12 niv

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1 niv).

“[God] justifies those who have faith in Jesus” (Romans 3:26 niv).

For those in Christ, these promises are not only a source of joy. They are also the foundations of true courage. You are guaranteed that your sins will be filtered through, hidden in, and screened out by the sacrifice of Jesus. When God looks at you, he doesn’t see you; he sees the One who surrounds you. That means that failure is not a concern for you. Your victory is secure. How could you not be courageous?

Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. – Matthew 7:7

Countless copies of Scripture sit unread on bookshelves and nightstands simply because people don’t know how to read it. What can we do to make the Bible real in our lives?
The clearest answer is found in the words of Jesus. “Ask and God will give it to you.” The first step in understanding the Bible is asking God to help us. ~ Max Lucado

I’ll occasionally listen to what they are playing on the radio these days (for the hip hop crowd) and these theological hip hop dudes are more talented than what I’ll hear. Acts 2:39 – The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.

Matthew 4:18-22 – As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

When God calls people they follow. Has He called you? Are you His? Are you following Him? Don’t base your salvation on something you’ve done in the past. Base it on what God’s doing to you..

What is the Gospel?

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation. – Romans 1:16

People want to change. All advertising is based on the presupposition that people want things different from the way they are. They want to look better, feel better, think better, and live better. They want to change their lives but, except from an external standpoint, they are unable to do so.

Only the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to change people and deliver them from sin, from Satan, from judgment, from death, and from hell. Acts 4:12 says, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” And that name is Jesus Christ.

So God’s Word, which is all about Jesus Christ, can do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. We are sinful and unable to remedy our condition, but from God comes the incredible, limitless power that can transform our lives. ~John Macarthur

Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. – Psalm 119:105

God isn’t going to let you see the distant scene. So you might as well quit looking for it. He promises a lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know He leads us and we will find grace to help us when we need it.

Col. 4:2 – Continue in prayer

Our prayers often resemble the mischievous tricks of town children, who knock at their neighbor’s houses and then run away; we often knock at Heaven’s door and then run off into the spirit of the world; instead of waiting for entrance and answer, we act as if we were afraid of having our prayers answered.

Yeah, they gon’ hate this one
They gon’ hate us cause we love Him so much
But it’s finna go down dawg
Yeah we gon’ represent Him tonight

[Verse One]
You can find me in a church
Focused and alert
No suit and tie, jeans and a t-shirt
I’m into praising God because He made us out of dirt
And plus He gave His life for this world’s evil works
So flirt with that
Most of y’all can’t jerk with that
Cause it ain’t no benefits and no purse with that
Still gotta’ live your life on this earth with that
But we live eternally and I can work with that
Holla, yeah I cheated, yeah I lust within
But guess what that’s why I trust in Him
See you thinkin’ that you ain’t that bad
You just lying to yourself playboy you better check your health
While you’re all about the cash and ice
Hope you ready for change you just broke the first commandment twice
And I know that you done stole before
If it wasn’t a gun it was some gum from the grocery store
It’s all sin to God
Man look into God
You guilty, you ain’t even a friend to God
Sin gotta’ high price it’ll cost your life
But God fit that bill on the cross with Christ

[Chorus]
The crossover from death to life
What’s the hold up accept the Christ
We flex the Mic to rep for Christ
So we can put your soul at rest tonight

[Verse Two]
Yo
I don’t catch the Spirit I’m all filled up
I can’t lose it either I’m all sealed up
And you can bet yo life
I’m a rep for Christ
One taste He’ll get you right

Folks is thinking they Christian
But when they sinnin’
They don’t feel the conviction that the Spirit is givin’
And they keep living life like, “that’s cool with me.”
Y’all people ain’t fooling me
Try to play me to the left like I’m trying to get deep on them
This is real talk dawg, you better peep somethin’
This ain’t that philosophic rap like ‘Harmoynm’
And I ain’t talking about the God you heard about from mom and them
Put that blunt out dawg, put down the Heineken
“man God understands” What? Come again
I guess you think that God is kinda’ like yo momma huh?
Like He ain’t even trippin’ on your sinnin and your drama

[Chorus]

[Verse Three]
Yo, life’s way more then ice and rims
And you don’t make enough to pay the price of sin
And God’s gon’ judge you dawg that’s reality
Saying you don’t believe is like saying there ain’t no gravity
Then running off to go jump a cliff
And when you hit the ground tell me what you get
Hey, why you running from the freedom of the gospel?
You hostile
You’re looking like your lucifer’s apostle
But God got you
And though we all deserve death He still keep putting breath in your nostrils
But you treat Him like an obstacle
See Him come at your convenience like a stop and go
Waiting for a sweeter deal or a sign or something
Like God ain’t come down and die or something
Trust me dawg God wants the best for you
That’s why the gospel of Christ is addressed to you

Ravi Zacharias – No God

Does God exist? The universe operates by uniform laws of nature. Why does it?

Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn’t change — on earth or in galaxies far from us.

How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?

“The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn’t have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.”11

Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize winner for quantum electrodynamics, said, “Why nature is mathematical is a mystery…The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of miracle.”12

No Regrets

On December 17, 1912 Bill Borden boarded ship for China via Egypt. His missionary career would be among history’s briefest—and most effective.

Borden was born into an upper-class family on Chicago’s Gold Coast, heir to a fortune in real estate and milk production. His mother became a Christian, and young Bill began attending Chicago’s Moody Church with her, soon becoming a Christian himself. Shortly afterward, when Pastor R. A. Torrey challenged worshipers to dedicate their lives to God’s service, William quietly rose—a little fellow in a blue sailor suit. He stood a long, long time while the service went on, but there was no wavering, and it was a consecration from which he never retreated.

Later at Yale University, Bill became well known as a star athlete, good-looking, worth $50 million, and committed to Christ. At a student missions conference in Nashville, he was deeply moved by Samuel Zwemer to reach the Muslims; and following graduation he announced he was giving his immense inheritance to the cause of world missions. He joined the China Inland Mission, planning to evangelize the Muslims in China. But first came language study in Egypt. On the eve of his departure, his widowed mother wondered if Bill had done the right thing, giving up fortune and homeland. “In the quiet of my room that night, worn and weary and sad, I fell asleep asking myself again and again, ‘Is it, after all, worthwhile?’ In the morning as I awoke, a still small voice was speaking in my heart, answering: ‘God so loved the world that he gave his only beloved son. … ’ ”

A month after arriving in Egypt, Borden contracted spinal meningitis. He was dead in two weeks, but he left a final message on paper stuffed under his pillow: “No Reserve! No Retreat! No Regrets!”

The story of his sacrifice was retold in newspapers across America and the publication of his biography resulted in a dramatic leap in numbers of young people offering themselves as living sacrifices for the Lord of the harvest.

The Lord said to Abram: Leave your country, your family, and your relatives and go to the land that I will show you. I will bless you and make your descendants into a great nation. You will become famous and be a blessing to others. I will bless anyone who blesses you, but I will put a curse on anyone who puts a curse on you. Everyone on earth will be blessed because of you. Genesis 12:1-3

Lover of Righteousness

Posted by carl on 15 December, 2009

“‘Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His Kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy companions’” (Heb. 1:8–9).

As the eternal God and King, Christ loves righteousness and hates lawlessness.

In these days it’s difficult for us as Christians to be totally supportive of our governmental leaders when we see so much of what God calls righteousness compromised or ridiculed. But the King of kings—Christ Himself—is the only leader who has a perfectly right attitude toward righteousness.

Christ rules from an eternal throne, and He rules eternally as God and King. The scepter He holds is symbolic of His rule, particularly as a rule of righteousness.

But there’s more to it than that. He not only acts righteously—He loves righteousness itself. How often have we obeyed without joy, expressing an attitude of willing condescension? But Jesus gives us a different model.

James 1:17 says, “Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.” True righteousness never varies from what is true, just, and good. And 1 John 1:5 says, “God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” God is total light and total righteousness. Everything Jesus did resulted from His love of righteousness.

Because Christ loves righteousness, He hates lawlessness. Since He loves what is right, He must hate what is wrong. The two are inseparable; one cannot exist without the other. You cannot truly love righteousness and also love sin. When there is true love for God, there will also be true love for righteousness and total hatred of sin.

The more you and I become conformed to Jesus Christ, the more we will love righteousness. Our attitudes toward righteousness and sin will ultimately reveal how closely we are conformed to Christ. Check out your attitudes and actions. How are you doing? ~John Macarthur

Suggestions for Prayer: Like the psalmist, ask God to show you “any hurtful way” in you (Ps. 139:24).

Posted by carl on 14 December, 2009

Its 3 am and i’m on ecstacy driving 150 mph down 408. Another typical night for me when I was walking in darkness not even two years ago. I look back at times like that and it freaks me out, there were so many times I should have died. There were so many things i’ve done where I should either be locked up or in a grave. But God protected me through it all. Had I died do I think i would have gone to a ‘better place’? Now that i’m starting to get my face in the bible there is no way, biblically it says the life after your death is eternal, it is forever.. But thanks be to God that he kept me alive and saved me from myself.

I know the majority of us grew up being taught that if you pray this prayer where you ask Jesus into your heart you are set for heaven. And I just wanna educate everyone that there is nothing in the bible that talks about this. That is a man made false gospel.

Bibically were called to know God. Not to know about Him but to actually know Him personally. True children of God have a desire to know Him more and more and more. A desire to read about Him, pray to Him, and exalt Him with their lives. He also calls us to live a life of repentance(for not being obiedient to Him 100% of the time, for putting things above Him)

The closer you come to God the more he reveals how evil your heart actually is. I’m mortified by how sinful my heart is. I know I was ridiculously bad from human perspective before, but looking at my heart from Gods perspective its amazing to think that he can love me despite all thats in me. Gods grace becomes amazing when you see how sinful and wicked your heart is. But till you can recognize that you can’t really have a clear view of the beauty of God. That God would die for someone like me? Its ridiculous to think about because i’m the most underserving person in the world. And thats something he wants us to recognize that we didn’t deserve Him to come and die for us.. That we would not be seperated from Him for ever. So That we can inherit his righteousness through the outpouring of his spirit. He gave his life to us so that life could be lived through us if we believe.

Lastly He calls us to treasure Him more than anything in our lives. We can’t do these things on our own, because we have nothing in ourselves that wants to come to God. So what am I getting at.. examine your heart if you have no real true passion for God then it is a red flag. Gods children are filled with His spirit. Have you ever felt the prescence of the spirit of God in your life? Is the spirit opening your eyes to your own depravity and your need for Gods grace constantly?

Its so easy to just assume you’re saved but the bible says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Have you ever even examined if you are saved or not? Heaven or Hell is forever.. its ridiculous not to dwell upon the state of your soul..

Phillipians 2:12 – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,

John 14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 – Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Matthew 7:22-23 – Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Did you catch that? ‘I never KNEW you’ Get to know Him..

Trip Lee – Looking for Love

We know and rely on the love God has for us. – 1 John 4:16

The secret to loving is living loved.…

Does bumping into certain people leave you brittle, breakable, and fruitless?… If so, your love may be grounded in the wrong soil. It may be rooted in their love (which is fickle) or in your resolve to love (which is frail). John urges us to “rely on the love God has for us” (1 John 4:16, niv). He alone is the power source. ~Max Lucado

Love Overflowing

Chad Thompson – Agape

Love suffers long and is kind. – 1 Corinthians 13:4

Loving is always expressed by giving. Not all gifts are given with love, but all genuine love results in a spontaneous flow of giving—giving in words, in deeds, in objects, in other signs of affection. Love allows you to look beyond a person’s actions and find a godly way to give to that person.

At times, the greatest act of love may be a gift of forgiveness, or it may be godly advice or admonition.… A loving heart always looks toward the highest and greatest expression of God’s love in a relationship. It is love that is unconditional and overflowing.

Justified

Alistair Begg – Justify

Matthew 11:28 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

When we rest, we find relief to our weary limbs. So spiritually. When the soul comes to Jesus, He gives it rest and relief from its burdens; as well as deliverance from anxiety, and cessation from the labour that distresses and distracts it. He promises to this—“Come unto me, and I”—who else can do it? None, either in heaven or earth—“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

How? By communicating to the soul out of His infinite fulness, by sprinkling upon the conscience His atoning blood, by shedding abroad in the heart His dying love, and enabling the soul to believe on His name, and cling to His Person. In this there is rest—nothing else will do it—nothing else will give it. Other remedies will leave us at last under the wrath of God. But He that comes to and leans upon Jesus, His finished work, His dying love, will have rest here and heaven hereafter.

Are not our poor minds often restless, often anxious, and pensive, because of a thousand doubts, perplexities, painful trials, and grievous afflictions—do they not all make your spirit weary and restless within you? There never can be anything but restlessness while we move round this circle of sin and self. But when by precious faith we come out of our own righteousness, our own strength, our own wisdom, our own worthiness; come to, believe in, hang upon, and cleave unto the Person, blood, and work of the only-begotten Son of God, so as to feel a measure of His preciousness in our hearts—then there is rest.

This is solid, this is abiding, this is not delusive; this will never leave the soul deceived with false hopes. No, it will end in eternal bliss and glory—in the open vision of eternal love—in seeing Him face to face whom the soul has known, looked to, believed in, and loved upon earth.

God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants. – Philippians 2:13, tlb

As a result of being saved, what do we do? We obey God with deep reverence and shrink back from all that might displease Him. Practically put, we love our neighbor and refrain from gossip. We refuse to cheat on taxes and spouses and do our best to love people who are tough to love. Do we do this in order to be saved? No. These are the good things that result from being saved.

A Prisoner for Christ

Posted by carl on 4 December, 2009

It has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ. – Philippians 1:13

The apostle Paul always saw himself as a prisoner because of Christ—never because of crime. He was in chains because he believed in, preached, and represented Jesus Christ.

From the point of view of Rome, Paul was a captive chained to a Roman guard. But from Paul’s perspective, the Roman guards were captives chained to him! The result of such close confinement was that the cause of Christ had “become evident to the whole palace guard.” Far from being a burdensome condition, Paul had been given the opportunity to witness for Christ to each guard assigned to him, at six hours a stretch.

What did those soldiers see? They saw Paul’s godly character, graciousness, patience, love, wisdom, and conviction. As members of the palace guard were converted, salvation spread beyond them to “those who are of Caesar’s household” (Phil. 4:22). No matter how difficult it may appear on the surface, no one is too difficult to reach with the gospel.

How much time do you spend watching TV? How much time do you spend reading books and magazines? How much time do you spend on Internet? On facebook, myspace, youtube, news sites, reading emails or chatting? How much time do you spend texting? How much time do spend with God?

What will you tell God at the judgment if he asks you why you don’t know Him? Do you really think you can bargain with the God of the universe? You realize you can die any second, everyday in America 6,171 people die. Thats 1 person that dies every 14 seconds. It’s very easy to assume that if you die you’re going to heaven because you’re a ‘good’ person or because you’ve asked Jesus in your heart. But the bible says that heaven will be inhabited by people who know and love God.

When you die you will stand before God and he will flash back your life right in front of your eyes as if on a television screen. If you do not know Him you will have no excuse for that..

I pray that you are seeking God above everything in your life. And if that is something that is hard for you to do, then pray and ask God to make you treasure Him more than you treasure anything in your life. Ask Him to make you love Him more than you love anything in your life. Only through Him can we come to Him. Jesus gave His life to us so He could live His life through us..

Matthew 7:21-23 – “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Matthew 7:36 – Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’This is the first and greatest commandment.

Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Anyone who comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who truly want to find him. – Hebrews 11:6

One translation renders Hebrews 11:6: “God … rewards those who earnestly seek him” (niv). I like the King James translation: “He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”

Diligently—what a great word. Be diligent in your search. Be hungry in your quest, relentless in your pilgrimage. Let this book be but one of dozens you read about Jesus.… Step away from the puny pursuits of possessions and positions, and seek your king.

Don’t be satisfied with angels. Don’t be content with stars in the sky. Seek him out as the shepherds did. Long for him as Simeon did. Worship him as the wise men did. Do as John and Andrew did: ask for his address. Do as Matthew: invite Jesus into your house. Imitate Zacchaeus. Risk whatever it takes to see Christ.

John Piper – Fly to Him

On one side stands the crowd.
Jeering. Baiting. Demanding.
On the other stands a peasant.
Swollen lips. Lumpy eye. Lofty promise.
One promises acceptance, the other a cross.
One offers flesh and flash, the other offers faith.
The crowd challenges, “Follow us and fit in.”
Jesus promises, “Follow me and stand out.”
They promise to please. God promises to save.

God looks at you and asks, “Which will be your choice?”

If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing even to give up their lives to follow me. – Mark 8:34

The thing that sets the fruit of the Spirit apart from its counterpart is that the fruit of the Spirit is not environmentally sensitive. It’s one thing to have peace and joy when everything is going your way. It’s another thing altogether to maintain your peace and joy when the bottom falls out. It’s one thing to love your children; it’s another thing to love your enemy.

Not I, But Christ

John Piper – He Did

Not I, but Christ liveth in me – Gal. 2:20

The wonder of the life in Jesus is this—and you will find it so, and you have found it so, if you have ever taken your New Testament and tried to make it the rule of your daily life: that there is not a single action that you are called upon to do of which you need be—of which you will be—in any serious doubt for ten minutes as to what Jesus Christ, if He were here, (Jesus Christ being here) would have you do under those circumstances and with the material upon which you are called to act. The soul that takes in Jesus’ word, the soul that through the words of Jesus enters into the very person of Jesus, the soul that knows Him as its daily presence and its daily law—it never hesitates.

This song is from the album 13 letters by 116 clique. Heres a little background info that I found on reachrecords.com about the album..

The 116 Clique is back with the Groundbreaking new album where rap and the bible collide!

Beats, Rhymes, and the Scriptures…. we mashed them together to create 13 Letters, a hip hop overview of Paul’s letters in the New Testament. Ever wish you had a better understanding of some of the Bible? Now you have a tool that can help you grasp it! Each track breaks down a different book that Paul wrote!

The cross

Posted by carl on 11 November, 2009

They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. – Revelation 7:14

God has only one requirement for entrance into heaven: that we be clothed in Christ.

Listen to how Jesus describes the inhabitants of heaven: “They will walk with me and wear white clothes, because they are worthy.…” (Rev. 3:4).

Listen to the description of the elders: “Around the throne there were … twenty-four elders.… They were dressed in white and had golden crowns on their heads” (Rev. 4:4).…

All are dressed in white. The saints. The elders.… How would you suppose Jesus is dressed? In white? … “He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God” (Rev. 19:13).

Why is Christ’s robe not white? Why is his cloak not spotless? Why is his garment dipped in blood? … Paul says simply, “He changed places with us” (Gal. 3:13).…

He wore our coat of sin to the cross.

Some sobering statistics from 1995

Posted by carl on 3 November, 2009

•63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes.

•90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.

•85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes.

•80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes.

•71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes.

•70% of juveniles in state operated institutions come from fatherless homes

•85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home.

•Nearly 2 of every 5 children in America do not live with their fathers.

This report of statistics was done in 1995. Almost 20 years ago. If you have a child be a part of his/her life. Its interesting to think, if we actually took God and His commands seriously, what kind of world this would be..

If you are a single mother, I pray that you would pray and seek God above all. Make wise decisions with the use of your time and pray that God would put you in a position to find a man who loves God, more than he loves himself, in your child’s life. A man like Jesus..

If you are a single father put yourself in a position to give time to your child. Raise him and love him in such a way that he will live to reflect the image of Christ..

Proverbs 22:6 – Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Praying for God’s Will

Posted by carl on 30 October, 2009

Scripture reading: Colossians 1:9–14
Key verse: Psalm 68:28

Your God has commanded your strength;
Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.

The most powerful act anyone can perform is to pray for someone. Of course, the power is not in the praying, but in the release God gives in His perfect answer to our prayers. Paul provided an example of one of the most effective prayers we could utter. He prayed for the Colossian church:

• to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will. What a wonderful gesture to ask God to make clear for family members or friends the precise, exact decisions He wishes them to make in every circumstance.

• to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord. This means asking that someone’s life will have weight—will count eternally and not temporally.

• to bear fruit in every good work. We should pray for loved ones to remain so Christ-centered that He through them determines their conversation, conduct, and character.

• to increase in the knowledge of God. Can there be a more precious request than that of wanting someone to grow ever closer to our heavenly Father?

• to be strengthened and sustained with the power of God. Within an evil world system, we need the supernatural power of God to help us bear up under the strain.

• to give thanks for having qualified as saints of God. There is nothing for which we should be more appreciative.
Father, today I pray for those I love—that they will be filled with the knowledge of Your will and walk in a manner worthy of You.

Father, today I pray for those I love—that they will be filled with the knowledge of Your will and walk in a manner worthy of You. Let them bear fruit in every good work and be strengthened and sustained by Your power.

Don’t waste your life..

Don’t waste your life By Lecrae from the album Rebel.. if you want this album or any other of the materials on this blog email me at inhalejesus@gmail.com

Luke 12:15-21 – Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’

“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.” ‘ “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

“This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God.”

I don’t wanna go to heaven if God is not there..

I pray if you guys take anything out of this song just ask yourselves this: Am I chasing God or his gifts? Do I live for his presence or his presents? Would you be satisfied to get to Heaven and not see Him?

God is not to blame

Posted by carl on 25 October, 2009

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone. -James 1:13

Although some believe in the ancient idea that God is responsible for our temptation and sin, James forbids such a thought in today’s verse.James warns against rationalizing our sin and blaming God in the midst of our battle against temptation. When you are fighting temptation and near to yielding, don’t make the excuse that God is tempting you.

Assuming that no one would accuse God of directly causing him to sin, James is saying that we should not even think of God as the ultimate cause of our sins. Most people don’t go as far as to see God as the direct tempter, but they do believe God is indirectly to blame by having permitted the situation and the possibility of failure. But God is not the near agency of temptation, nor is He even its remote cause. Don’t ever look at yourself as a victim of God’s providence.
