Loran Livingston – Near

Your word is like a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. – Psalm 119:105
God isn’t going to let you see the distant scene. So you might as well quit looking for it. He promises a lamp unto our feet, not a crystal ball into the future. We do not need to know what will happen tomorrow. We only need to know He leads us and we will find grace to help us when we need it.
Carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love. – Jude 20
Imagine considering every moment as a potential time of communion with God. By the time your life is over, you will have spent six months at stoplights, eight months opening junk mail, a year and a half looking for lost stuff …, and a whopping five years standing in various lines.
Why don’t you give these moments to God?
I look at your heavens, which you made with your fingers. I see the moon and stars, which you created. -Psalm 8:3
We serve the God who designed the universe and set our world in motion. But those hands that hung the stars in the heavens also wiped away the tears of the widow and the leper. And they will wipe away your tears as well.
Col. 4:2 – Continue in prayer
Our prayers often resemble the mischievous tricks of town children, who knock at their neighbor’s houses and then run away; we often knock at Heaven’s door and then run off into the spirit of the world; instead of waiting for entrance and answer, we act as if we were afraid of having our prayers answered.
email me if you want this cats album.. Grace and Peace
Yeah, they gon’ hate this one
They gon’ hate us cause we love Him so much
But it’s finna go down dawg
Yeah we gon’ represent Him tonight
[Verse One]
You can find me in a church
Focused and alert
No suit and tie, jeans and a t-shirt
I’m into praising God because He made us out of dirt
And plus He gave His life for this world’s evil works
So flirt with that
Most of y’all can’t jerk with that
Cause it ain’t no benefits and no purse with that
Still gotta’ live your life on this earth with that
But we live eternally and I can work with that
Holla, yeah I cheated, yeah I lust within
But guess what that’s why I trust in Him
See you thinkin’ that you ain’t that bad
You just lying to yourself playboy you better check your health
While you’re all about the cash and ice
Hope you ready for change you just broke the first commandment twice
And I know that you done stole before
If it wasn’t a gun it was some gum from the grocery store
It’s all sin to God
Man look into God
You guilty, you ain’t even a friend to God
Sin gotta’ high price it’ll cost your life
But God fit that bill on the cross with Christ
[Chorus]
The crossover from death to life
What’s the hold up accept the Christ
We flex the Mic to rep for Christ
So we can put your soul at rest tonight
[Verse Two]
Yo
I don’t catch the Spirit I’m all filled up
I can’t lose it either I’m all sealed up
And you can bet yo life
I’m a rep for Christ
One taste He’ll get you right
Folks is thinking they Christian
But when they sinnin’
They don’t feel the conviction that the Spirit is givin’
And they keep living life like, “that’s cool with me.”
Y’all people ain’t fooling me
Try to play me to the left like I’m trying to get deep on them
This is real talk dawg, you better peep somethin’
This ain’t that philosophic rap like ‘Harmoynm’
And I ain’t talking about the God you heard about from mom and them
Put that blunt out dawg, put down the Heineken
“man God understands” What? Come again
I guess you think that God is kinda’ like yo momma huh?
Like He ain’t even trippin’ on your sinnin and your drama
[Chorus]
[Verse Three]
Yo, life’s way more then ice and rims
And you don’t make enough to pay the price of sin
And God’s gon’ judge you dawg that’s reality
Saying you don’t believe is like saying there ain’t no gravity
Then running off to go jump a cliff
And when you hit the ground tell me what you get
Hey, why you running from the freedom of the gospel?
You hostile
You’re looking like your lucifer’s apostle
But God got you
And though we all deserve death He still keep putting breath in your nostrils
But you treat Him like an obstacle
See Him come at your convenience like a stop and go
Waiting for a sweeter deal or a sign or something
Like God ain’t come down and die or something
Trust me dawg God wants the best for you
That’s why the gospel of Christ is addressed to you
Ravi Zacharias – No God

Does God exist? The universe operates by uniform laws of nature. Why does it?
Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn’t change — on earth or in galaxies far from us.
How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?
“The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn’t have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.”11
Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize winner for quantum electrodynamics, said, “Why nature is mathematical is a mystery…The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of miracle.”12

On December 17, 1912 Bill Borden boarded ship for China via Egypt. His missionary career would be among history’s briefest—and most effective.
Borden was born into an upper-class family on Chicago’s Gold Coast, heir to a fortune in real estate and milk production. His mother became a Christian, and young Bill began attending Chicago’s Moody Church with her, soon becoming a Christian himself. Shortly afterward, when Pastor R. A. Torrey challenged worshipers to dedicate their lives to God’s service, William quietly rose—a little fellow in a blue sailor suit. He stood a long, long time while the service went on, but there was no wavering, and it was a consecration from which he never retreated.
Later at Yale University, Bill became well known as a star athlete, good-looking, worth $50 million, and committed to Christ. At a student missions conference in Nashville, he was deeply moved by Samuel Zwemer to reach the Muslims; and following graduation he announced he was giving his immense inheritance to the cause of world missions. He joined the China Inland Mission, planning to evangelize the Muslims in China. But first came language study in Egypt. On the eve of his departure, his widowed mother wondered if Bill had done the right thing, giving up fortune and homeland. “In the quiet of my room that night, worn and weary and sad, I fell asleep asking myself again and again, ‘Is it, after all, worthwhile?’ In the morning as I awoke, a still small voice was speaking in my heart, answering: ‘God so loved the world that he gave his only beloved son. … ’ ”
A month after arriving in Egypt, Borden contracted spinal meningitis. He was dead in two weeks, but he left a final message on paper stuffed under his pillow: “No Reserve! No Retreat! No Regrets!”
The story of his sacrifice was retold in newspapers across America and the publication of his biography resulted in a dramatic leap in numbers of young people offering themselves as living sacrifices for the Lord of the harvest.
The Lord said to Abram: Leave your country, your family, and your relatives and go to the land that I will show you. I will bless you and make your descendants into a great nation. You will become famous and be a blessing to others. I will bless anyone who blesses you, but I will put a curse on anyone who puts a curse on you. Everyone on earth will be blessed because of you. Genesis 12:1-3
More on Bill Borden

“‘Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His Kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy companions’” (Heb. 1:8–9).
As the eternal God and King, Christ loves righteousness and hates lawlessness.
In these days it’s difficult for us as Christians to be totally supportive of our governmental leaders when we see so much of what God calls righteousness compromised or ridiculed. But the King of kings—Christ Himself—is the only leader who has a perfectly right attitude toward righteousness.
Christ rules from an eternal throne, and He rules eternally as God and King. The scepter He holds is symbolic of His rule, particularly as a rule of righteousness.
But there’s more to it than that. He not only acts righteously—He loves righteousness itself. How often have we obeyed without joy, expressing an attitude of willing condescension? But Jesus gives us a different model.
James 1:17 says, “Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow.” True righteousness never varies from what is true, just, and good. And 1 John 1:5 says, “God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” God is total light and total righteousness. Everything Jesus did resulted from His love of righteousness.
Because Christ loves righteousness, He hates lawlessness. Since He loves what is right, He must hate what is wrong. The two are inseparable; one cannot exist without the other. You cannot truly love righteousness and also love sin. When there is true love for God, there will also be true love for righteousness and total hatred of sin.
The more you and I become conformed to Jesus Christ, the more we will love righteousness. Our attitudes toward righteousness and sin will ultimately reveal how closely we are conformed to Christ. Check out your attitudes and actions. How are you doing? ~John Macarthur
Suggestions for Prayer: Like the psalmist, ask God to show you “any hurtful way” in you (Ps. 139:24).
Its 3 am and i’m on ecstacy driving 150 mph down 408. Another typical night for me when I was walking in darkness not even two years ago. I look back at times like that and it freaks me out, there were so many times I should have died. There were so many things i’ve done where I should either be locked up or in a grave. But God protected me through it all. Had I died do I think i would have gone to a ‘better place’? Now that i’m starting to get my face in the bible there is no way, biblically it says the life after your death is eternal, it is forever.. But thanks be to God that he kept me alive and saved me from myself.
I know the majority of us grew up being taught that if you pray this prayer where you ask Jesus into your heart you are set for heaven. And I just wanna educate everyone that there is nothing in the bible that talks about this. That is a man made false gospel.
Bibically were called to know God. Not to know about Him but to actually know Him personally. True children of God have a desire to know Him more and more and more. A desire to read about Him, pray to Him, and exalt Him with their lives. He also calls us to live a life of repentance(for not being obiedient to Him 100% of the time, for putting things above Him)
The closer you come to God the more he reveals how evil your heart actually is. I’m mortified by how sinful my heart is. I know I was ridiculously bad from human perspective before, but looking at my heart from Gods perspective its amazing to think that he can love me despite all thats in me. Gods grace becomes amazing when you see how sinful and wicked your heart is. But till you can recognize that you can’t really have a clear view of the beauty of God. That God would die for someone like me? Its ridiculous to think about because i’m the most underserving person in the world. And thats something he wants us to recognize that we didn’t deserve Him to come and die for us.. That we would not be seperated from Him for ever. So That we can inherit his righteousness through the outpouring of his spirit. He gave his life to us so that life could be lived through us if we believe.
Lastly He calls us to treasure Him more than anything in our lives. We can’t do these things on our own, because we have nothing in ourselves that wants to come to God. So what am I getting at.. examine your heart if you have no real true passion for God then it is a red flag. Gods children are filled with His spirit. Have you ever felt the prescence of the spirit of God in your life? Is the spirit opening your eyes to your own depravity and your need for Gods grace constantly?
Its so easy to just assume you’re saved but the bible says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Have you ever even examined if you are saved or not? Heaven or Hell is forever.. its ridiculous not to dwell upon the state of your soul..
Phillipians 2:12 – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
John 14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
Romans 8:11 – But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 – Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Matthew 7:22-23 – Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Did you catch that? ‘I never KNEW you’ Get to know Him..

Trip Lee – Looking for Love
We know and rely on the love God has for us. – 1 John 4:16
The secret to loving is living loved.…
Does bumping into certain people leave you brittle, breakable, and fruitless?… If so, your love may be grounded in the wrong soil. It may be rooted in their love (which is fickle) or in your resolve to love (which is frail). John urges us to “rely on the love God has for us” (1 John 4:16, niv). He alone is the power source. ~Max Lucado
Chad Thompson – Agape
Love suffers long and is kind. – 1 Corinthians 13:4
Loving is always expressed by giving. Not all gifts are given with love, but all genuine love results in a spontaneous flow of giving—giving in words, in deeds, in objects, in other signs of affection. Love allows you to look beyond a person’s actions and find a godly way to give to that person.
At times, the greatest act of love may be a gift of forgiveness, or it may be godly advice or admonition.… A loving heart always looks toward the highest and greatest expression of God’s love in a relationship. It is love that is unconditional and overflowing.
~Charles Stanley
Alistair Begg – Justify
Matthew 11:28 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
When we rest, we find relief to our weary limbs. So spiritually. When the soul comes to Jesus, He gives it rest and relief from its burdens; as well as deliverance from anxiety, and cessation from the labour that distresses and distracts it. He promises to this—“Come unto me, and I”—who else can do it? None, either in heaven or earth—“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
How? By communicating to the soul out of His infinite fulness, by sprinkling upon the conscience His atoning blood, by shedding abroad in the heart His dying love, and enabling the soul to believe on His name, and cling to His Person. In this there is rest—nothing else will do it—nothing else will give it. Other remedies will leave us at last under the wrath of God. But He that comes to and leans upon Jesus, His finished work, His dying love, will have rest here and heaven hereafter.
Are not our poor minds often restless, often anxious, and pensive, because of a thousand doubts, perplexities, painful trials, and grievous afflictions—do they not all make your spirit weary and restless within you? There never can be anything but restlessness while we move round this circle of sin and self. But when by precious faith we come out of our own righteousness, our own strength, our own wisdom, our own worthiness; come to, believe in, hang upon, and cleave unto the Person, blood, and work of the only-begotten Son of God, so as to feel a measure of His preciousness in our hearts—then there is rest.
This is solid, this is abiding, this is not delusive; this will never leave the soul deceived with false hopes. No, it will end in eternal bliss and glory—in the open vision of eternal love—in seeing Him face to face whom the soul has known, looked to, believed in, and loved upon earth.
J.C. Philpot
God is at work within you, helping you want to obey him, and then helping you do what he wants. – Philippians 2:13, tlb
As a result of being saved, what do we do? We obey God with deep reverence and shrink back from all that might displease Him. Practically put, we love our neighbor and refrain from gossip. We refuse to cheat on taxes and spouses and do our best to love people who are tough to love. Do we do this in order to be saved? No. These are the good things that result from being saved.
It has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ. – Philippians 1:13
The apostle Paul always saw himself as a prisoner because of Christ—never because of crime. He was in chains because he believed in, preached, and represented Jesus Christ.
From the point of view of Rome, Paul was a captive chained to a Roman guard. But from Paul’s perspective, the Roman guards were captives chained to him! The result of such close confinement was that the cause of Christ had “become evident to the whole palace guard.” Far from being a burdensome condition, Paul had been given the opportunity to witness for Christ to each guard assigned to him, at six hours a stretch.
What did those soldiers see? They saw Paul’s godly character, graciousness, patience, love, wisdom, and conviction. As members of the palace guard were converted, salvation spread beyond them to “those who are of Caesar’s household” (Phil. 4:22). No matter how difficult it may appear on the surface, no one is too difficult to reach with the gospel.

Francis Chan – Role Model
“We were … eyewitnesses of His majesty.” – 2 Peter 1:16,
Have you seen Jesus? Those who first did were never the same.
“My Lord and my God!” cried Thomas.
“I have seen the Lord,” exclaimed Mary Magdalene.
“We have seen His glory,” declared John.
But Peter said it best. “We were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”
